Mohinder bursts into his apartment and finds Sylar there. He welcomes him home and asks what happened to his nose. Mohinder demands to know where Molly is, and Sylar says she's asleep. Mohinder asks what he wants, and Sylar innocently says, "Breakfast?" He tells him Maya cooked. Maya tells Mohinder it's an honor to meet him. Sylar says Mohinder should be honored, Maya came all way`from South America to be there. Mohinder asks why, and she tells him she read his father's book. He has so many answers, and she has so many more questions. Maya says she knew fate brought them together when Gabriel said they knew each other. Mohinder tells her she means Sylar, and says he's a killer. She says she knows, he told her. Maya is ashamed to admit she's taken lives as well. Sylar says they both need his help. Mohinder asks why and Sylar said he's been reading on the laptop about the Shanti virus and asks if it takes away abilities. Maya asks if Sylar has it. Sylar gets up and points a gun at Mohinder. Maya asks what's he doing, and he tells her that Mohinder's blood is the answer to his ills. Mohinder says not always, and Sylar says that isn't it right that mixed with Claire's blood it can heal anything? Maya realizes Sylar lied to her and Mohinder tells her Sylar's a monster. Maya's powers come out. Sylar asks if she wants to kill Mohinder, the one mean who can save her. They hear a scream, and Molly comes out, Maya affecting her as well. Maya sees her and retracts her powers. Mohinder runs and takes Molly in his arms. He reluctantly agrees to help Sylar. He says they have to go to his lab. Sylar sneers, "Lead the way, doctor."
Angela says she supposes she has Nathan to thank for her early release from jail. Nathan says she didn't kill anyone, and Matt says Adam Monroe did. He tells Angela he found Victoria Pratt's body in Maine and Adam signed it with one of the pictures with the symbol. Nathan asks how long they'll have to pay for Angela's generation's deeds. She tells him Adam wanted revenge on those who betrayed him. Nathan tells her Peter's alive and Matt adds he's working with Adam, his fingerprints are all over the murder scene. Angela says it all went so wrong thirty years ago when the group of them came together to change the world, and Adam had a compelling perspective. She believed him. Linderman, Nathan's father. Nathan points out they locked him away, and Angela says not at first. But he decided the world wasn't worth saving, it needed to be wiped clean with an unstoppable virus. Just before it was too late, she came to realize how wrong it was. Nathan points out she and Linderman wanted to blow up New York to save the world, it doesn't sound like she's changed all that much. Angela says only someone with Peter's abilities could get to where the virus is stored, that's why Adam chose him. Matt asks where, and Angela tells him Odessa, Primatech. The only way to stop Adam is a bullet through his head. As Nathan and Matt are leaving, Angela thinks if they can't stop Peter, they'll have to kill him too. Right through the head.
In Primatech, Peter tells Adam this doesn't look like the kind of place to store a virus. Adam says the paper company's a front, the real place is three floors down... and he freezes. Peter looks around and sees everything but him is frozen. He turns and sees Hiro. They recognize each other, and Peter asks what he's doing there. Hiro tells him he killed his father, and for that he must pay. Hiro pulls out the sword and Peter holds up his hand with electricity and says he won't let him hurt him. Hiro charges, Peters releases his power, and Hiro teleports to the other side of Adam and asks why Peter's protecting him. Peter says Adam is his friend, and Hiro says he was his friend too, four hundred years ago, but he betrayed him. He will betray Peter. He holds up the sword and Peter uses his powers and says he saved his brother's life. Hiro tells him he murdered his father, and Peter retorts his father had him locked up for thirty years. He knows. He was in that same prison. Hiro teleports again. Peter goes over to where he was standing and Hiro comes up behind Peter, the sword at his throat. Peter tells him he went into the future, there's a virus, kills almost everyone, and he and Adam are gonna stop it. He shocks Hiro whos falls to the ground and time is unfrozen. Adam recognizes Hiro. Peter said Hiro knew him, and Adam says they were friends, a very long time ago. Peter says Hiro said he shouldn't trust him, and Adam asks what he thinks. Peter says it's time to destroy the virus and starts walking. Adam picks up his sword and says, "I believe this is mine, carp."
Claire says HRG left records of everything he ever did with company. Sandra asks if she's really going through with this and if she knows what'll happen if she tells everyone what she can do. Claire says no more running, hiding or secrets. Sandra points out HRG couldn't take down the company, what makes her think she can? Claire tells her she doesn't think she realizes they only target people with abilities. People like her. Sandra says Claire is still her daughter, and she dreams of her going to college, getting married. What if they take her, use her in some lab experiment? Claire tells Sandra she loves her, but can't live in fear of a what if.
Bob is furious Elle provoked Claire, and Elle says she couldn't help, Claire was so weepy and earnest. Bob chastises her it was unprofessional and petty, Claire isn't in her league. Elle meekly says she isn't working with a gunshot wound. Bob says they both knew she's performing less than what she can do, and tells she's benched. No more field assignments. Elle, in tears, asks what if she said she was sorry? Bob says after all the hard work he put into raising her. This prompts Elle to get some answers.
HRG is bouncing a ball against the wall when Elle comes in. She watches him for a minute before she tells him to tell her what her dad did to her. HRG says there is no real urge to share. Elle summons her powers and says she could make him tell her. HRG says she could try. Elle begs and says she doesn't have anyone else to talk to. HRG tells her they wanted to see how much wattage she could discharge. Enough to power a flashlight, street lamp, an entire city block. During testing she'd pass out from the strain and they'd all want to call it a day, but Daddy said "No, my girl' s tougher than that." She was only seven years old. He tells her that hardest thing a parent ever does is see their child in pain. Most parents. Bob comes in and demands what she's doing there. She looks from Bob to HRG and says she's leaving and walks out. Bob tells HRG they have a problem. He reminds Bob he's not part of their "they". Bob tells him Claire's becoming difficult. Bob asks if she could have any hard evidence to leave the company exposed. HRG continues to bounce the ball and Bob says that's unfortunate, cause now they're gonna have to take measures to keep her quiet.
Niki is pacing nervously when Micah comes in and tells her what happened. Micah says Monica was taken in a van and they have to rescue her. Niki says she doesn't have her strength anymore, cause of the virus. But Mohinder is coming to make her better. Micah hopes so, but Monica still needs him, so all Niki has to do is drive.
In Primatech, Peter is throwing guards against the wall left and right. An alarm is going off, and Adam asks him to take care of it. Peter zaps it and they see the vault. Peter asks what they do now, and Adam says he guesses they have to pry it open with that brain of his. Peter isn't sure he had that kind of power, and Adam tells him there's not that much at stake... just the entire human race. Peter asks if he killed Hiro's father, and Adam says he did, he wanted to make sure the virus was kept here,if not properly use it, why not destroy it? Peter asks why he should make him believe him, and Adam tells him the woman he loves is trapped in some horrible future where everyone's dead. She needs him. They all need him to open that door. Peter starts trying to open it.
Mohinder is opening Isaac's loft with Sylar, Maya and Molly right behind him. Maya says Alejandro was right about him, she shoudln't have trusted him. Sylar says she wants to get rid of her powers, he wants his back, and after Suresh fixes him, he'll gladly take hers off her hands. Sylar says there's a bed over there, and says to Molly stay put, to Maya stay calm, and grabs Mohinder pointing the gun at him. Molly calls after him and Mohinder says he'll be okay. Sylar tells Mohinder he killed Isaac on the very spot they're on. Mohinder says he needs a sample of Sylar's blood, and Sylar says to just give him the remedy. Mohinder says he needs to see what`strain of the virus he has, and Sylar rolls up his sleeve and Mohinder jabs the needle into him. Sylar muses Mohinder's father helped him find his gift, and here he is restoring it. Mohinder says his father who he murdered, and Sylar says his father who betrayed him and warns him not to make the same mistake. Mohinder looks up at the surveillance camera.
Elle sneaks into Bob's office and pulls a file box off a shelf and it's empty. She logs onto Bob's computer and wonders does Suresh know he's on video surveillance? She pauses it on Sylar's face and looks at a picture of Bob on the desk and tells it, "Oh Daddy, you're gonna be so proud of me!"
Monica is in an abandoned building tied to a wood post and one of her kidnappers is pouring gas on the floor. Monica asks where she is, and he says that doesn't matter, she's about to be country fried. She begs to be let go, she was just trying to help somebody. The guy says she was trying to be a hero, and in the real world, heroes end up dead. Just like her.
Monica tries to reach for her phone.
Micah is tracking Monica on his phone and giving Niki directions. Niki asks how that works, and Micah tells her Monica's cell phone emits a GPS so he can use Niki's phone to tell him where Monica is. Micah tells her not to slow down, the light will change. Niki asks if he told it to. Micah grins and nods.
Matt is yelling to slow down and falls onto the ground in front of Primatech, for Nathan actually flew there with Matt on his back. When toucing ground, Nathan cracks his back. Matt says they don't talk about that ever again. Nathan agrees. Matt asks if Peter is as dangerous as he was in Kirby Plaza, and Nathan says he hasn't seen him since that night, but he trusts him with his life. Matt tells Nathan Angela told him if he had to, he'd have to kill Peter. Nathan says nothing good comes out of listening to his mother, and he'll handle Peter if he becomes a problem. Hiro comes out of Primatech, and true to form, upon seeing Nathan thrusts his arms in the air and yells, "Flying Man!" Matt asks who Hiro is.
Claire is taping up a box when West comes in. Claire is happy to see him and asks for his help, but West says he's here to stop her. Claire says these her life, his life. West says they didn't, but what she's about to do, that will. Claire reminds him he said they were special, that the rules didn't apply to them. West guesses she misunderstood him. Claire says people will listen to them if they tell them what they can do. West says he likes who he is and his secrets and confiding in her, someone he can trust, which will be all gone when she goes public and adds exposing them won't bring HRG back. Claire says fine and shoves his file into his arms and says now there's isn't a them for him to worry about. West begs for her not to do this but she turns around. He walks outside. She turns back around and sees him outside, looking so sad as he flies away. Mr. Muggles is barking. Claire if he'll leave her, and he runs to the door. Claire turns and drops the box in shock. HRG is standing in the doorway. He says, "Hello, Claire-Bear."
Maya tells Molly she wishes Alejandro was here and tells Molly she sent him away. Molly says she can find him so Maya knows he's safe. Molly tells about her ability and Maya gets out a picture from his wedding. Molly tries to find him and says he's not anywhere. Maya says if he's not anywhere... she gets up, realizing what happened. Mohinder has found Sylar has the same strain of the virus as Niki, so the company injected him as well. Sylar asks someone did this to him, and Maya shouts he killed her brother! Sylar shoots her and Molly screams. Maya lies dead on the same place where Sylar killed Isaac.
Sylar points the gun at Mohinder and demands to know where the "heal anything" blood is. Molly begs him not to and Mohinder takes it out of his bag. Sylar questions he had it here all along? He says they have trust issues and tells him to use it on Maya first and if it works, he'll let him use it on him.
Sandra demands was it another lie? HRG said none of this was his decision. Claire says she saw him get shot and HRG tells her it was her blood that healed her. He tells her Claire has to stop and if she pushes it, they will react. He made a deal to go back with them and they'll live normal lives. Claire begs him not to an HRG says she was right when she said it was his fault. He tells them he never meant to hurt them. He walks outside where Bob is waiting and tells him it's done.
Peter is still attempting to open the vault when he finally starts getting somewhere. Blood starts dripping from his nose when he gets it open. Adam goes toward the door when Hiro appears and tells Kensei he must stop him. Peter throws Hiro against the wall. Adam says it'll get out unless he does something about it. He goes in and Peter holds Hiro against the wall when Matt orders him to let him go and go after Adam. Peter uses his powers and thinks he doesn't think so, and Matt thinks Adam's using him, and Peters thinks back Adam wouldn't do that. Matt thinks he's going to release the virus, and Peter thinks back he's going to destroy and sends Matt sliding down the hall. Peter yells he's on the wrong side. Nathan comes in.
Nathan: What about me, Pete?
Peter: Nathan?
Nathan: Am I on the wrong side, too?
Hiro teleports into the vault and calls,
Hiro: Kensei! You were my friend.
Adam: You were more than a friend to me. You were my inspiration. I was a ruthless drunk when you came along and taught me to be a hero.
Hiro: Only to have you become a villain
. Adam: (Pulls out sword and holds it at Hiro's throat) I learned that from you. (Holding virus behind his back) (In Hallway)
Nathan: I went to the company. Adam has a history. Who he is, what he wants. He tried to release the virus. Peter: Know how your burns got healed, Nathan? He gave you his blood. I was there. You should be grateful! (In Vault)
Adam: Wars, famine, disease, four hundred years later, nothing has changed. God wasn't happy with what he
created. He made it rain for forty days and forty nights. He had the right idea, just wash it all away. When this virus is released, those of us who are left will be granted a second chance. And I'll be their hero.
(In Hallway)
Nathan: He used me to get to you. Don't you see it? Tried to manipulate you.
Peter: Nathan-
Nathan: Peter, that night in Kirby Plaza when I carried you away it's cause I believe in you. You're my brother, Pete. I love you.
(In Vault)
Hiro: You are not God.
Adam: Really? I've lived four hundred years, whose to say I won't live four hundred more?
Hiro: I should have killed you. Long ago. And I should kill you now. For my father.
(In Hallay)
Nathan: Can you really trust Adam?
Peter turns and runs toward the vault with Nathan right behind him. Hiro puts his hand and Adam shoulder to teleport them, but not before Adam drops the virus, and it falls down, down, down...
Peter gets to the door of the vault and stops the virus right before it hits the floor. He walks toward it and picks it up carefully. Nathan asks if that's it, and Matt asks where Hiro and Adam went. Peter says they're gone. Matt looks around and wonders what all this stuff is, and Peter says he saw it could do, and he almost... Nathan tells Peter he's not responsible for might have happened. Peters tell them to stand back and destroys it. After he has, the helix mark is in the ashes on his hand. Matt asks what the hell is going on and how long they'll have to clean up their parents' mess. Nathan agrees and says they've been used, manipulated by these people. But it stops here. No more secrets. Peter asks what he wants to do, and Nathan says they take it all public, and we see they're on surveillance. Nathan wants to have a press conference and needs Matt to make sure everybody listens to him.
Mohinder is injecting Maya and Sylar is surprised it's a simple injection. They all wait, and the bullet pops out of Maya's skin. Elle comes in silently. Sylar says he's sure Maya'll understand if he's not there when she wakes up. Elle calls, "Sylar!" He points the gun at her and shoots, and Elle ducks, Molly screams, Mohinder holds her tight. Sylar shoots again and goes for the back door. Elle zaps him at the back door and he falls through it. Elle runs after him. Mohinder looks at his bag and remembers Niki.
Micah tells Niki they're almost there.
The bad guy sees Monica's phone and takes it and she called no one. He takes the St. Joan comic book and lights it on fire. As the fire spreads, Monica begs not to be left there. He runs out.
Micah says it's right around there and sees the van and the guy. Niki tells him to hold on and swerves in front of the van. The guy asks what's wrong with her and she beats him and demands to know where Monica is. Micah sees the burning building and Niki tells him to stay there and call 911. She runs into the building and calls for Monica. Monica asks how they found her, and she answers Micah. Monica says she loves that kid and she grabs Micah's backpack as a wooden plank falls down. Niki pushes it enough to get Monica out but herself is trapped inside.
Monica runs out and grabs Micah and the building explodes. Micah yells, "MOM!"
Ando comes into the office and finds Hiro sitting there dressed for work. He asks where he's been and Hiro said he went to face his father's killer. Ando asks if he found and killed him, and Hiro tells him he'll never be able to hurt anyone ever again.
Adam is screaming to be let out of a box which we find is a coffin. We find out Hiro buried Adam alive.
Maya wakes up and says she thought she was dead. Mohinder says she very nearly was. Elle comes back in and announces Sylar's gone, he got away. She hits the door and says her dad's gonna kill her. Mohinder doubts that very much. If she hadn't arrived, Sylar would've slaughtered them all. They owe her their lives. Elle says, "Really? Cool."
In the Odessa police station, Matt asks Nathan if he's ready. Peter says if he hadn't listened to Adam, and Nathan says if he hadn't listened to Linderman. He puts his hands on Peter's shoulders and tells him he was trying to do the right thing. He always does. He trusts people are as good as he is. But if he sees himself as a monster, this guilt'll just eat him up inside. Nathan knows. Peter now is smiling, and Nathan asks why. Peter says he really missed Nathan. Nathan says he really missed him, too. They hug. Matt comes in and says they're ready for him.

Nathan is shot twice in the chest. He falls down and hysteria breaks out. Peter catches Nathan and lays Nathan on the ground in his arms, trying to get him back. Matt stands over Peter surrounded by reporters. Matt looks up and sees the police keeping the crowd back, and one man walking away.
Angela is watching the television report of Nathan's attack when the phone rings. She says, "I know. It was unavoidable. You do know that you've now opened Pandora's box." |
