Melodifestivalen was the 60th and most recent edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen. The Mamas are the first band to win since and the first female act to win since ; this is the fourth time in the history of Melodifestivalen that Sweden was unable to send a song to the Eurovision Song Contest and the first such occurrence since , as the contest itself was cancelled on 18 March due to travel restrictions related to the COVID pandemic. The 28 competing entries were divided into four semi-finals, with seven compositions in each. The bottom three songs in each semi-final were eliminated from the competition.
